Late Heroics From Fantroy Secures Win Over Alabama State


MONTGOMERY, Ala. – In a thrilling showdown, the TSU women’s basketball team secured a dramatic 69-67 victory over Alabama State on the Hornets’ home court, maintaining their historic undefeated streak and their first road sweep in the state of Alabama since 2020.
In the early moments, both teams struggled to find their rhythm offensively. Treasure Thompson got TSU on the scoreboard first, putting up six quick points in the first quarter. Alyasia Fantroy joined the action, stretching the gap by scoring five points. The Lady Tigers extended their lead with a three-pointer by Courtlyn Loudermill and a fast-break layup by Thompson, ending the first quarter with a 21-12 lead.
