Texas Southern women’s basketball rallied to defeat Southern University 55-51 in a thriller on Saturday afternoon to open SWAC play undefeated.
Southern University had a strong start, leading 27-20 at halftime and extending their lead to 15 points in the third quarter. However, Texas Southern’s defensive effort in the final quarter turned the game around as they opened SWAC play 2-0 for the first time since 2020 while defeating SU for the first time since 2022 .
