Women’s Golf In 4th After Day 1 Of Bridgestone HBCU Invitational

DULUTH, Ga. – The Texas Southern Women’s Golf team sits in fourth place following a day one total of 621 (307 + 314) at the Bridgestone HBCU Invitational on Wednesday.

Junior Shawnise Gregory is in the lead for the Tigers as she’s tied for eighth after her eight-over-par opening 36 holes. Gregory posted a 152 (75 – 77) two-round total. She carded five birdies, 21 pars, and 8 bogeys or more throughout the day.

Freshman Carmen Pate (76 – 79) and Senior Azul Amezcua (78 – 77) are tied for 12th on 11-over 155 (76 – 79). Freshman Zufan Girard is three strokes back on 158 (76 – 83) while Thaiz Amezcua carded a 162 (79 – 83) total.
