Tigers Fall To Jackson State In Tournament, Will Face Prairie View In Elimination Round
The Texas Southern University baseball team fell 17-4 to Jackson State in the first round of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Baseball Tournament at Russ Chandler Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Jackson State started off strong in the first inning with five runs on five hits. Texas Southern placed two runs at the bottom of the first and another two runs in second inning after Nin Burns, ll doubled to left center, scoring Tyler Williams and Shannon Martin. The difference was an 11-run on 10 hits, seventh inning for JSU as TSU committed four errors in the frame.
Texas Southern will still have another shot towards the Championship as they will play No. 3 seed Prairie View, who loss to Bethune Cookman. The game is slated to begin on Thursday at 9 a.m. The winner will advance to Game 9 to take on the loser of Game 7.
