Soccer’s Postseason Run Ends In Finals Of SWAC Tournament

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – TSU’s goal of a NCAA Tournament bid fell short in the finals of the 2024 SWAC Tournament as Southern claimed a 1-0 win on Sunday.

For the second straight game, TSU found themselves down early as Southern would score a goal 16 minutes in. Unlike Friday’s match, TSU couldn’t counter in the first half despite two additional shot attempts as they remained down 1-0.

Like last month’s match in Houston between both teams, the margin for error was slim. TSU’s defense stopped the SU offense as they limited the Jaguars to only two shots in the half. Offensively, TSU had four shot attempts in the half but couldn’t connect unfortunately as the season would come to an emotional end.

TSU closes the 2024 campaign with its first-ever SWAC Regular Season Championship and appearance in the conference tournament finals under first-year head coach Kendall Ayers…
