No-Hitter Game One, CJ Castillo Fans Seven In Game Two As Tigers Sweep Wiley College At MacGregor Park
A no-hitter in game one, and CJ Castillo fanning seven in game two were the highlights of the evening as Texas Southern swept Wiley College, 8-2 and 12-2 at MacGregor Park Wednesday.
Game 1: Texas Southern 8, Wiley College 2
Texas Southern had three Tigers to walk (Jose Villalobos, Edmundo Alanis, Nin Burns, ll) to load the bases in the bottom of the second. Shannon Martin and Chase Cromer both were hit by a pitch to score Villalobos and Alanis.
The Tigers added three more runs in the third and one in the fourth to take a commanding, 6-0 lead. TSU wrapped up its scoring in the bottom of the sixth as they registered two runs on two hits.
Wiley College plated two runs on a Tiger error at the top of the seventh as TSU won in a walk off fashion.
Jason Lazo led the way for the Tigers as he went 4-for-2 with one run. Noah Butler stole three bases. Alford Dalton picked up the win for TSU in 3.0 innings as he struck out five. Carlos Marquez, Dade Hensley and Adolf Castillo pitched one inning in relief and each fanned two.
Game 2: Texas Southern 12, Wiley College 2
The Tigers got on the score board early in the bottom of the first as Jordan Vidato got on base after being hit by a pitch and advanced a base after Lazo reached on a catcher’s interference. Jaden Jones was hit by a pitch to load the bases, then Vidato scored on a wild pitch.
Wiley responded at the top of the second with two runs on two hits, but TSU put the game away at the bottom of the frame as the Tigers took advantage of four hits, three walks and three hit by pitches to plate eight runs.
TSU scored three more runs, one in each the third, fourth and fifth as CJ Castillo picked up the win 4.0 innings, striking out seven and walking three. Kameron Walton pitched 3.0 innings as he fanned five and walked three.

Texas Southern will will take part in a four game series against Kansas beginning on Friday, March 1. The first pitch is set to be thrown at 3 p.m in Lawrence, Kan.
