Hayes Named 2nd Team Preseason All-SWAC
TSU men’s basketball senior giard Zaire Hayes was named to the 2025-26 Preseason All-SWAC basketball team on Wednesday.
A senior from Houston, Hayes had a career junior campaign which saw him finish second on the team with 10.3 points per game while finishing second on the team with 47 three-pointers made. He also shot 46 percent from the field and 84 percent from the free throw line with season highs in points scored against Grambling State (24), Alabama State (24) and Alcorn State (20).
Hayes and the men’s basketball team, which was picked 5th in the preseason poll, kick off the 2025-26 season at Gonzaga on Monday, Nov. 3 in Spokane, Wash.
