Football Dominates Prairie View A&M To Claim Labor Day Classic Win, Dishman Has Successful Head Coaching Debut

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – The Cris Dishman era started off on the right foot as Texas Southern ended a nine-game losing streak to Prairie View A&M by a dominant 27-9 margin inside Panther Stadium on Saturday.

Texas Southern held Prairie View A&M without an offensive touchdown for the first time since 2003.

TSU’s first drive started off shaky as PVAMU recovered a TSU fumbled snap but the defense stood tall and held PVAMU to a field goal. Chaunzavia Lewis took the ensuing kickoff 43 yards and the Tigers were in business as KJ Cooper found Kerion Charlo for a first down. The drive would stall as TSU settled for a 40-yard field goal from Gustavo Romero as it was tied at 3-all early in the first quarter.
