Texas Southern Secures 4-3 Victory Over Alabama State Hornets
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The bottom of the lineup helped Texas Southern capture a 4-3 victory over Alabama State Hornets on Sunday. Elijah Rodriguez, Jonathan Trejo, and Evan Joubert combined for four of the team’s seven hits in the victory, scoring one run and driving in three.
Texas Southern didn’t take the lead until later in the game. The game was tied at three in the top of the ninth when Trejo singled, scoring one run.
Alabama State Hornets opened the scoring in the bottom of the second thanks to two doubles. Alabama State Hornets first got on the board when Kyler McIntosh doubled, scoring one run.
Joubert doubled on a full count, which helped Texas Southern tie the game at two in the top of the fourth.
