PRATTVILLE Ala. – The Texas Southern women’s golf team is tied in third place following the opening round of the ASU Spring Classic hosted by Alabama State University.

Junior Ashlie Howard-Hobbs takes the lead for the Tigers following her 4-over-76 round. Sophomore Dili Sitanonth is three strokes back and tied in 9th place after her 7-over 79 while Lyla Vaughn is tied in 11th place.

The ASU Spring Classic takes place at the Robert Trent Jones Trail – Capitol Hill on Senator Course and was scheduled to be a 54-hole tournament. However, the second round was suspended due to darkness. As a result, the Classic will be shortened to 45 holes of play to accommodate the competing team’s travel schedules.

The conclusion of the second round will begin at 7:45 a.m. on Monday prior to the final nine holes of play immediately after.
