
WACO, Texas – The TSU men’s track team put together one of its best performances of the outdoor season with nine top-five finishes and two individual titles at the 2022 Baylor Invitational.
Javan Martin posted the SWAC’s top time in the 100 with a 10.35 as he was the top collegiate finisher after placing second overall. Brandon Washington finished second in the 800 and moved to third in the SWAC after a run of 1:52.66. Hilary Maiyo ran a time of 9:02.36 to place fourth in the 3,000 while Jose Gonzalez (9:43.07) and Luis Delreal (9:51.81) finished 3-4 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as Delreal’s time was a personal best. The mile relay team of Eric Prier, Kenneth White, Tyrell Simms and Brandon Washington rounded out the running events as they ran a season-best time of 3:14.04 to place fourth.
Adedeji Adeyeye won the high jump as he cleared a 6-7 while Kenneth Pree won the long jump for the fourth consecutive weekend as he logged a mark of 24-7.25. Teammate Donyae Castaneda finished third with a mark of 23-11.75 as TSU holds the top two jumps in the SWAC. Chadrick Williams placed second in the triple jump as he finished with a jump of 49-05.5.
TSU is back in action at the Texas A&M Team Invitational on Friday and Saturday in College Station, Texas.
