HOUSTON- Zach Lofton contributed a game high 21 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 3 assists as the Texas Southern Tigers got a dominating 92-47 victory over the Alabama A&M Bulldogs on Monday at the HPE Arena.
Trae Jefferson netted 20 points off the bench for TSU as the Tigers took control of the game early behind the stellar play of Lofton and his teammates.
Texas Southern clicked on all cylinders during the contest shooting 51 percent from the field for the game.
Defensively Texas Southern was able to force AAMU into committing 13 miscues which lead to 18 Texas Southern points. TSU also held Alabama A&M to shooting just 32 percent from the field for the contest.
With the win the Tigers improved their conference record to 8-1 on the season heading into a pivotal rivalry match-up with Prairie View A&M on Saturday at the HPE Arena.
