Pine Bluff, Ark.- The Texas Southern Lady Tigers secured a 75-65 victory on the road against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, maintaining their undefeated record in the SWAC at 9-0.

Having to play Tuesday due to the postponement of the original date in January, the Lady Tigers had a slow start, trailing the Golden Lions by one point at the end of the first quarter, 14-13. However, they picked up the pace in the second quarter, holding UAPB to 13 points while scoring 20 themselves for a 33-28 lead.

After halftime, Fantroy, who had been quiet in the first half, came out with a point to prove.

With 4:42 left in the game, the Lady Tigers held a four-point lead when Daeja Holmes hit a clutch three-pointer, extending the lead to 64-59. This shot ignited a scoring streak for Fantroy, who flexed her skills with a right-handed layup despite being a lefty. With 3 minutes remaining, Fantroy added 7 more points, and a crucial layup from Treasure Thompson sealed the game at 75-65.

Fantroy finished the game with 24 points and 7 rebounds. Jaida contributed 13 points and 4 rebounds, Daeja Holmes added 9 points and 3 rebounds, and Harris chipped in with 8 points and 7 rebounds.

"I have an on-and-off switch and I usually turn it on in the first half. I have to figure out how to turn it on for 40 minutes," said Fantroy.

Coach Verette Skeete commented, "When it comes to Jaida and Lay Lay, they are just game-time players. They want to score naturally and are expected to make these shots and finish. These next two games are going to be a test. We are coming off a four-game stretch, so we really need the fans to give us that extra push."

The Lady Tigers are back in action Thursday at home against Bethune-Cookman at 6 p.m.
