Men’s Track Finish 2nd At SWAC Championship, Brooks, Walker, Hines Earn Titles
BATON ROUGE, La. – The TSU men’s track & field team placed second overall at the 2026 SWAC Outdoor Track & Field Meet on Tuesday evening.
Donovan Brooks claimed the gold in the decathlon after totaling 6,152 points. Brooks won the shot put, discus, pole vault, javelin, and 1500-meter run while placing fourth in the high jump and long jump.
Jalen Walker placed second in the hammer with a mark of 188-02 feet, while Blaine Nunn finished fifth (168-05). Chris Johnson logged a mark of 24-4.25 feet and placed eighth in the long jump, while Donovan Brooks threw 160-09 feet to place eighth in the javelin. Walker returned to the throwing ring later that evening and earned a third-place finish in the shot put (52-6) while Nunn placed fifth (50-6).
