Women’s Golf Claims HBCU Hall of Fame Title
SUWANEE, Ga. – The Texas Southern women’s golf team were victorious at the 40th Thomas W. Dortch Jr. Golf Classic Hall of Fame hosted by the Black College Golf Coaches Association on Tuesday. The Tigers posted a 36-hole total of 607 (310 – 297) to win the tournament by nine strokes.
Freshman Carmen Pate was the top scoring Tiger with her two-day total of 5-over-par 147 (74 – 73). Pate’s 2-over-par second round included four birdies, nine pars, and five bogeys or higher. Her efforts also earned her a 2nd place finish individually.
Senior Azul Amezcua finished five shots back tied in 5th place individually on 10-over-par with her 152 (76 – 76) total. Junior Shawnise Gregory came in 8th place on 156 (78 – 78). Fellow…
