Gonzalez Fires 4-Under-Par Final Round of 68, Women’s Golf Finish 3rd at ASU Hornet Invitational
PONCE, PUERTO RICO – The Texas Southern Women’s Golf Team finished in third place after posting a total of 924 (308 – 315 – 301) at the ASU Hornet Invitational hosted by Alabama State University on Wednesday.
Graduate Student Alexa Gonzales fired a personal record (PR) score of four-under-par 68 in her final round to climb up the leaderboard and finished tied for fifth-place individually on 227 (82 – 77 – 68). Gonzalez’s final rounded included six birdies, ten pars, and two bogeys for her PR. Fellow grad, Kennedi Lee, finished in eighth place individually with her 229 (74 – 79 – 76) total while sophomore Shawnise Gregory was two strokes back on 231 (74 – 78 – 79) and in 10th place. Azul Amezcua posted a 237 (78 – 81 – 78) total.
