EDINBURG, Texas – The Texas Southern Tigers’ four-game winning streak came to a halt with after a 10-0 loss to the UTRGV Vaqueros Tuesday night.
The Tigers’ offense struggled against Vaquero starter Angelo Cabral, who allowed only three hits and faced just one batter over the minimum in his seven scoreless innings. Bryce Hughes, Damian Garcia, and Jaden Jones were the only Tigers to reach base via hits.
On the mound, the Tigers’ pitching staff couldn’t contain the UTRGV hitters after the second inning. Extended at-bats and inconsistent command led to TSU surrendering 10 runs over six innings. Starter Kam Walton took the loss, giving up three runs on five hits over three innings.
