George, Payne Post Top 2 SWAC Marks In Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Bayli George posted the second-fastest time in the SWAC while Destinee Payne posted the second-best long jump as TSU had six top-10 marks at the Samford Invitational.

George finished fifth overall in the 400 (57.42) as it marked the second-fastest time in the SWAC. The mile relay of Cesley Williams, Desirae Roberts, Tyeler Moore and George ran the third-fastest time in the SWAC (3:53.92) as they placed fifth.

Destinee Payne finished fifth in the long jump after a personal best and the SWAC’s second-best mark of 18-7 feet. Alexis Wilson holds the fifth-best triple jump in the SWAC after a third-place finish of 38-9.5 feet.

Ronelle Plaza moved up to fourth in the SWAC in the weight throw after a throw of 50-1.75 feet which earned her a sixth-place finish. Angela Sanchez moved up to 10th as she placed 10th after a throw of 46-4.25…
