Texas Southern men’s basketball upped its winning streak to three games after holding off a furious Alcorn State comeback Saturday evening inside the H&PE Arena.
Both teams were neck-to-neck to open the game as it was setting up to become the typical Alcorn State-TSU battle down to the wire. However, the Tigers set the tone defensively and took ownership of the game on the defensive end which fueled their offense from that point as they outscored ASU 19-4 over the next eight minutes as five Tigers scored. TSU also held ASU scoreless during a seven-minute stretch during the run.
