Gendorf, McKnight Sweeps SWAC Weekly Softball Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Texas Southern’s Tamera McKnight and Jazmine Gendorf for SWAC Softball Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances during this past week of conference play.

A native of Missouri City, Texas, McKnight batted .600 in four games with six hits, six RBIs, two home runs, and 13 total bases. She also boasted a 1.300 slugging average and a .692 on-base average highlighted by a key SWAC series win over Southern.

Gendorf was named SWAC Pitcher of the Week as the Waco, Texas native went 2-0 in three appearances with eight strikeouts and a 1.17 earned runs average (ERA). She struck out five batters with only one run earned during the series finale against Southern. Gendorf also allowed no runs with two strikeouts in a midweek performance at Incarnate Word.
