Golf Teams Gear Up For SWAC Championships

ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Texas Southern University men’s and women’s golf teams are back on the road this week as they will compete in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Golf Championships.

The 2021 Southwestern Athletic Conference Golf Championships will be hosted in Alexandria, La. April 19-21 at Oak Wing Golf Club. The practice round is on Sunday, followed by 36 holes of competition for the women and 54 holes for the men Monday through Wednesday.

The women’s team recently competed in the Women’s National Collegiate in Pine Mountain, Ga. where senior, Rev Alcantara, was the top scorer with her 15th place finish. The men’s team competed in Humble last week as the Lone Star Invitational as sophomore Devansh Chadha finished 15th overall to lead TSU.

“We have prepared decently for SWAC,” Texas Southern University head golf coach, Dr. Gary Grandison said. “Each player has been working on what is needed to prepare for conference. We know what we need to do.”
