Davis, Gendorf Earn SWAC’s Weekly Softball Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Texas Southern’s Crimson Davis and Jazmine Gendorf its Softball Co-Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively after several impressive outings last week.
 
Davis batted .571 (8-for-14) with five runs scored, eight total bases and was a perfect 5-for-5 in stolen base attempts. The Oklahoma City, Okla. native had two-plus hits in three-of-four games along with a 3-for-3 performance which also featured two runs and two stolen bases at Houston-Victoria as TSU finished the week with a perfect 4-0 record. The freshman also went 2-for-4 during TSU’s win at Lamar with a run scored and two stolen bases.
 
Gendorf went 2-0 and allowed only three runs (two earned) in 12 innings of action. During TSU’s win at Lamar, the Waco, Texas native allowed only one run and four hits in a complete game performance.

Wednesday’s game at Sam Houston State was postponed due to inclement weather. TSU is back action on Friday at the Longhorn Invitational in Austin as they’ll face New Mexico, Liberty and Texas on Friday and Saturday. Also, head coach Worley Barker has announced the postponed February contest at Stephen F. Austin has been rescheduled for April 15 in Nacogdoches, Texas.
