HUNTSVILLE, Texas – Texas Southern dropped an 87-71 road decision at Sam Houston State Saturday evening.

Down 15-13 early on, Kolby Granger’s three-pointer moved TSU ahead 16-15 but the Bearkats would regain the lead as they led 19-16 with 8:11 left. The Tigers would roar back from that point as Zaire Hayes’ three-point play tied the contest at 19-all. Kavion McClain’s trey moved TSU on top 22-19 as the lead grew to 26-21 after Oumar Koureissi’s layup.

SHSU would regain a 27-26 lead after a 6-0 surge but TSU fought back again as McClain’s five points sparked an 8-0 run and a 34-27 lead with 1:32 left. SHSU would get within 34-32 with 38 seconds left but McClain’s layup…
