Women’s Golf In 4th After Day 1 Of SWAC Championship

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – The Texas Southern University Women’s Golf Team is in fourth place after posting a 336 in the opening round of the 2025 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Golf Championship.

Junior Azul Amezcua leads the way for the Tigers on 9-over par, 81, and is tied in sixth place. Sophomore Phaith Harris is 2 strokes back on 83 and placed in 11th place.

The competing teams are playing at the Robert Trent Jones Trail: Oxmoor Valley, a par-72 championship course. The Tigers tee up for the second round of the SWAC Championships Tuesday morning with a 7:30 am start.
