Volleyball Returns To Action At UTRGV Tournament This Weekend

The Texas Southern volleyball team is back in action this weekend after a long hiatus. The Tigers will participate in the annual UTRGV Tournament in Edinburg, Texas along with Houston Baptist, Washington State and host Texas Rio Grande Valley.
TSU opens up play on Friday at 1:30 p.m. at UTRGV before wrapping up the day with a match versus Houston Baptist at 4:30 p.m. The tournament wraps up on Saturday with a match against Washington State at 11 a.m.
Alexis Austin leads TSU with 55 kills while Atira Jells ranks first on the team with nine service aces. Breyanna York tops the team with 147 assists followed by Valencia Grayson’s 62 digs. Radka Brichackova and Indyah Rideaux man the front line as they both have 10 blocks apiece.
All games will be played inside the UTRGV Fieldhouse as tickets are available online. The matches versus UTRGV and Washington State will be streamed online at the above links. The HBU match will not be streamed.
