Volleyball Prepares For SWAC Showdown Against Prairie View A&M Wednesday Night

The Texas Southern volleyball team is back in action after an extended break as they’ll face SWAC rival Prairie View A&M Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. inside H&PE Arena.

TSU is looking for its first 3-0 SWAC start since 2016 but it won’t be easy as records are thrown out the door when it comes to Prairie View A&M. TSU owns a 19-10 lead since 2011 but PVAMU has won five of the past six matches.

TSU hasn’t played since Sept. 27 at Southern as they’re coming off a 2-0 tough road trip at Alcorn State and Southern. Wednesday begins a busy stretch of matches for TSU as they’ll head to Jackson State on Saturday for its first SWAC Round-up which features three matches against Jackson State, Mississippi Valley State and Alabama A&M.

Freshman Chenise Cook leads TSU in hitting percentage (.223) and eighth in the SWAC while Thalia Cordero Moreno ranks eighth in the SWAC in kills with 2.35 per set.
