NORMAN, Okla. – The Texas Southern Tigers put up a commendable fight against #16 Oklahoma in one of their best performances of the season as the contest came down to the wire.
OU broke a scoreless tie in the second on a fielder’s choice RBI for the early 1-0 lead. The score would remain the same until the fifth as OU tacked on an unearned run with two outs for a 2-0 margin. The Sooners’ margin increased to 5-0 in the seventh but TSU would respond in the eighth as Evan Joubert drove in Jaden Jones followed by Miguel Morales’ RBI double which scored Jesse Herrera III. Elijah Rodriguez’s RBI single scored pinch runner Carl Sullivan for a 5-3 deficit.
