Tigers Close Out Road Trip In Atlanta
ATLANTA – A big first half run by Georgia Tech turned the tide of the contest as TSU fell 81-62 Tuesday night.
Grayson Carter’s trey gave TSU an early 3-2 lead but TSU wouldn’t return to the board for another three minutes as Carter’s second three-pointer and bucket moved them ahead 8-6. The Yellowjackets would outscore TSU 8-3 to claim a 17-11 lead at the 12:48 mark but four points from Duane Posey sparked brief surge as TSU trailed 20-17.
However, TSU would miss its next five shots as Georgia Tech began to heat up as they outscored them 10-2 to lead 30-19. Posey’s jumper cut the deficit to 30-21 with 6:30 left but TSU closed out the half 1-of-9 from the field as the Yellowjackets closed the half ahead 49-25.
The Tigers couldn’t overcome their first half hole as the Yellowjackets led comfortably throughout the second half.
