Men’s Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season With 6 1st Place Marks At The TSU Relays

The Texas Southern men’s track & field team posted six first-place finishes at the annual 73rd TSU Relays this past weekend inside Durley Stadium.

Jalen Walker won both the hammer (187-5) and shot put (51-4.25) as the hammer marked a personal-best and a school-record he set himself last season. Ahmad Muhammad placed first in the triple jump (47-8) while Babacar Diop placed first in the long jump (21-2).

In the relays, TSU posted first-place marks in the both the mile (3:14.67) and 4×100-meter relays (40.69).

The teams also had several top-three marks as Christian Jones finished third in the 100 (11.16) while Chaunzavia Lewis placed second (22.54) in the 200.
