Martinez Has Season High Strikeouts, Goudeau And Burns ll Homers En Route To 12-2 Win Against UAPB

Domenic has season high eight strikeouts while Michael Goudeau hit two homers including a grand slam and Nin Burns, ll hit one homer enroute to a 12-2 win against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Thursday at MacGregor Park. 

After two silent innings for both teams,  The Tigers put up three runs on three hits at the bottom of the third to lead off. Michael Goudeau  added another run in the fifth inning with a two-out homer to left field. 

UAPB’s two runs were scored in the top of the sixth after a two-run homer by Ben VanMaanen. 

With two outs at the bottom of the sixth, the Tigers still managed six runs as Burns, lol and Goudeau homered to score all runners. Victor Molina doubled then Burns, ll homered for two RBIs. Nasir Frederick walked, Tyler Williams was hit by a pitch, then Jaden Jones walked to load the bases. Goudeau hit a grand slam to left center to put the Tigers up 10-2. 

Texas Southern added two more runs in the eighth to end the game early as they were up 10 runs. 

Domenic Martinez picked up the win for the Tigers in six innings as he had a season-high eight strikeouts. Goudeau led the Tigers at the plate going 3-for-4 with six RBIs and two runs scored.
