Lady Tigers’ Historic WNIT Run Ends with Hard-Fought Battle Against Louisiana Tech
Ruston, LA– The Lady Tigers fell short in their historic WNIT run, losing to Louisiana Tech 64-71.
In the first quarter, Texas Southern struggled to keep pace with Louisiana Tech. The Lady Tigers managed to tie the game twice, first at 2-2 with a tip-in by Treasure Thompson and again at 4-4 with a jumper by Daeja Holmes. Aylasia Fantroy briefly gave Texas Southern a 6-4 lead with a layup. However, Louisiana Tech quickly responded, and despite a layup by Nya Harmon to tie the game at 8-8, the Lady Tigers fell behind. Louisiana Tech capitalized on missed shots and turnovers, ending the quarter with an 18-8 lead.
