The Texas Southern women's track & field team had several strong outings while participating in meets at Rice and the University of Texas.
The women's 4x100-meter relay had a solid weekend on the track as TSU women's track & field had five-top 10 marks at the Texas Invitational.
The relay team of Cesley Williams, Avia Trammell, Erica Grant and Car'De Moore jumped to second in the SWAC after a run of 45.24 while finishing third overall.
Williams also ran a personal-best 54.46 in the 400 to place eighth and ranks second in the SWAC while Desirae Williams finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:02.68). Destinee Payne finished eighth in the both the long jump (19-0.75) and triple jump (37-8) followed by Alexis Wilson in ninth (37-2.25). Angela Sanchez threw a length of 144-9 to place 10th in the hammer.
Alyvia Brown placed fifth in the 1500 while Shaunece Miller finished eighth in the long jump at the annual J. Fred Duckett Twilight Meet at Rice University.
Brown placed fifth in a competitive field in the 1,500-meter run while Miller jumped a personal-best in the long jump after recording a mark of 18-5 feet.
TSU is back in action on Friday at the Cameron Burrell Invitational at the University of Houston.
