VICTORIA, Texas – The Texas Southern women’s golf team came out victorious following a 16-stroke lead at the 2023 UHV/Texas Southern/Prairie View A&M Tri-Match hosted by the University of Houston-Victoria on Tuesday.
Senior Ashlie Hobbs was the individual winner following her 2-over par-74. Hobbs holed out for eagle on the 11th, had a birdie on the next hole and finished with 11 pars for her final score. Freshman Shawnise Gregory finished in second place after posting a 5-over 77 while senior Lyla Vaughn finished one stroke and in 3rd place with 78. The team posted a final score of 316.
The Tigers are back in action Monday, Oct. 9 as they compete in the Tarleton State Classic Match Play hosted by Tarleton State University.
