BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – The Texas Southern University Women's Golf Team posted a three-day total of 1011 (336 – 351 – 324) to finish in fifth place following the final day of play at the 2025 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Golf Championship on Wednesday. The SWAC Golf Championship was hosted at Robert Trent Jones Trail: Oxmoor Valley.

Junior Azul Amezcua was the top scorer for the Tigers with her sixth-place finish on 245 (81 – 84 – 80). Amezcua's efforts also solidified the 2025 Women's Golf All-SWAC Medalist Second Team Honors as a result.

Sophomore Shawnise Gregory moved up five spots to place tied 14th individually on 253 (86 – 90 – 77). Gregory's final round included four birdies, eight pars, and six bogeys.

The SWAC Championship concludes the Tigers' regular season. They return to the links in a few weeks as they gear up to compete in the 2025 PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship (PWCC), which will be played May 5-7 at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin.
