The Texas Southern baseball team has altered its weekend series against Grambling State due to expected inclement weather on Friday. TSU will now play Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. followed by a 1 p.m. contest on Monday at MacGregor Park.
Sunday’s contest is designated as senior day as TSU will honor its senior class in a pregame ceremony around 1 p.m.
Kam Fields is expected to open the series on the mound against GSU on Saturday. The graduate student from Garland, Texas leads the SWAC with 64 strikeouts and has struck out seven or more batters in his past six starts. First baseman Oscar Ponce is the reigning two-time SWAC Co-Hitter of the Week as he leads TSU in batting average, hits, doubles, RBI, total bases and home runs.
