Jalen Walker threw a career-high in the hammer as TSU men's track & field participated in the Tom Tellez Alumni Invitational.Walker threw a career and SWAC-best mark of 189-10 feet as he placed fifth overall. He would also finish eighth (149-7) in the discus. Jaden Brooks moved to second in the SWAC after throwing 152-9 in the discus while Swazi Gurnell placed ninth (131-2). Blaine Nunn posted a career-best in the hammer (166-6) and threw 48-4.5 in the shot put as he placed eighth in both events. Trevon Hill threw 51-11 in the shot put as he finished sixth.
Adam Hines moved to second in the SWAC in the pole vault (15-2.25).
The 4x100-meter relay team of Chaunzavia Lewis, Issac Henderson, Christian Jones and Donyea Jarmon placed second in a time of 40.78. Hilton Smith placed seventh in the 100-meter hurdles (14.83) while Henderson placed fourth in the 100 (10.72).
TSU is back in action Thursday at the Carl Knight Invitational in Nacogdoches, Texas at Stephen F. Austin.
