The Texas Southern Tiger football team hit the field Saturday night for their first practice of the season under first-year head coach Clarence McKinney.
Saturday's practice started out normal until a lightning strike from a nearby storm halted practice for an hour. After the severe weather threat was over, the Tigers resumed practice en route to their first late night of training camp. Once practice was over, McKinney provided his thought about Saturday's practice.
The team returns to action on Monday for its second practice.
