HOUSTON - With a grueling 11-game season awaiting, first-year strength & conditioning coach David Phillips is the man tasked with making sure the team is ready each and every week from start to finish.
Since his arrival on campus in January, Phillips has hit the ground running in shaping the team's mental and physical mindsets. He's normally the first coach the team sees on the practice field and is with them every step of the way from weight room and conditioning workouts. A former Marine, Phillips has a background in Electrical Engineering and has amassed 16 perfect scores on the rigorous Marines' physical fitness test.
TSUTigers.com spent the entire day with Phillips and received an inside look on what it takes to reach optimum performance.
Season tickets are still available this season at tsusports.com in addition to single game tickets. The season kicks off on Aug. 31 at 5:30 p.m. against Prairie View A&M in the 35th annual edition of the Labor Day Classic at BBVA Stadium.
