VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.- This past weekend Cutting Edge Sports Management (CESM), hosted a new college all-star football event, the inaugural HBCU Spirit of America Bowl.

The HBCU Spirit of America Bowl, was played on January 15, 2017 in Virginia Beach, and featured 110 of the best players from all HBCU football programs across the country who play in all NCAA Divisions and in the NAIA.

Texas Southern's Damond King, Averion Hurts, and Jarius Moore were selected to participate in the game after completing successful senior campaigns as members of the TSU Tigers football team.

The HBCU Spirit of America Bowl celebrates the tradition, heritage, community, and culture of HBCU football with full interaction with its athletes, fans, students, and alumni.

"We are excited to applaud the great HBCU student-athletes and to offer them an opportunity to have their dreams of playing professional football become a reality," said CESM CEO Neil Malvone.

CESM's HBCU Spirit of America Bowl also gave student-athletes the chance to showcase their talents on a national stage as the game was broadcast on the American Sports Network with its reach along the Sinclair media network of over 50 million households.
