Texas Southern University Director of Athletics Dr. Kevin Granger announced that Kendall Ayers has resigned as head women's soccer coach to pursue another career opportunity."I want to thank Coach Ayers for her service at Texas Southern," said Dr. Granger. "She generated plenty of excitement and made program history during her time here. Coach will be missed both on-and-off the field as we wish her the best going forward."
In her lone season at TSU, Ayers made an immediate impact on the field as she led the Tigers to their first-ever SWAC Regular Season Championship and championship game appearance in the SWAC Soccer Tournament. She also earned SWAC Co-Coach of the Year honors while coaching the SWAC's Co-Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year. Three student-athletes also earned All-SWAC honors under her watch.
Assistant AD/Academic Enhancement Kimberly Evans will handle the day-to-day operations of the program as a national search will begin immediately.
