BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Texas Southern men’s and women’s golf teams teed up for the opening round of the Birmingham Invitational hosted by the Southwestern Athletic Conference Monday morning.

Chilly conditions delayed the shotgun start for the opening round and remained throughout the day, but the players had no choice but to endure it.

Sophomore, Kci Lindskog leads the pack for the men’s team with his 2-over 74 round and is currently tied 10th. Senior Devansh Chadha and sophomore Caden Holmes were two strokes back after posting a 4-over 76.

Sophomore, Miness Siame leads the way for the women’s team after the first round and is tied in third place individually. Junior Lyla Vaughn is also within the top 10 as she is currently placed 7th.

The final round will be a shotgun start at 9 a.m. at the Robert Trent Jones Trail at Oxmoor Valley on the Valley course on Tuesday.
