TSUSports.com: Men’s Track & Field Wins 5 Titles, Posts 20 Top-5 Performances At TSU Relays

The TSU men’s track & field won five titles and posted 20 top-five performances at the 71st annual TSU Relays this past weekend.

Chaunzavia Lewis finished fourth in the 100 after a run of 10.69 and fifth with a personal best in the 200 (21.99). Brandon Washington (1:56.26), Ka’Bren Mitchell (1:56.79) and Cameron Houston (1:58.58) finished 2-3-5 in the 800 while Jose Gonzalez ran 3:55.86 for a third-place finish in the 1,500-meter run.

Albert Norman won first place in the 5,000 after a time of 15:28.08 while Malachi Byrd finished third in the 110-meter hurdles (15.19). Anthony Mangram placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:00.17) while the 4×100-meter relay placed third (41.64). The mile relay closed out the sprints with a time of 3:19.26 which was good for second place.

Turey Stoudemire won the high jump with a mark of 6-4 followed by a second-place finish from James Autrey (5-8). In the pole vault, Joshua Goslee (13-11.25) and Ian Charles (12-11.5) finished 2-3.

Chadrick Williams won the triple jump with a mark of 47-9.25 while Elijah Jordan placed third after a length of 45-1. Kellen Garion won both the shot put (39-3.25) and the hammer as he posted a personal best of 107-3. He also finished third in the discus with a mark of 129-0.

TSU is back in action this Friday and Saturday at the annual Victor Lopez Classic in Houston and the Prairie View Relays in Prairie View, Texas.
