LORMAN, Miss. – The Lady Tigers of Texas Southern University were denied a share of the Southwestern Athletic Conference regular season championship Saturday after falling 54-52 at Alcorn State to end the regular season.

The host Lady Braves scored nine unanswered points over the last five minutes of the game to erase TSU's largest lead of the fourth quarter before hitting the game-winning basket with four seconds left.

TSU's Joyce Kennerson finished a rebound shy of a double-double, scoring 13 points and pulling in a career-high nine rebounds – all on the defensive end of the court. Kaitlyn Palmer scored 12 points for the Lady Tigers, followed by 10 from Catherine Okwilagwe, which tied her career high.

Saturday's loss, coupled with Southern's 96-58 win over Prairie View A&M, pushed TSU (18-11, 13-5 SWAC) to the conference's No. 2 seed in the Toyota SWAC Tournament. The Lady Tigers will face Alabama A&M on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at TSU's H&PE Arena.
