
Kennerson was also recognized as the Southwestern Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performance in the final week of the regular season
Kennerson averaged 23 points per game and was on the court for all 80 minutes as she led Texas Southern to a 2-0 week. Kennerson scored a career-best 30 points and dished out five assists in the Lady Tigers' 64-45 victory over Alcorn State.
In the season finale against Southern Saturday, Kennerson scored a game-high 16 points in leading TSU to a 58-46 victory over the Jaguars, a win that earned TSU a share of the regular-season title for the third-straight season as well as the team's first 20-win regular season in more than 30 years.
Heading into the postseason of her sophomore year, Kennerson has already amassed 796 points for her career.
This was the third player of the week honor for Kennerson, who stands second in the SWAC in scoring (17.5 PPG) and minutes played per game (36.2).
