BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- Texas Southern guard John Jones has been named SWAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week following impressive outings versus Arizona State and Texas A&M.
Jones averaged 21 points, 2 rebounds, and 0.5 assists in two games versus Pac-12 and SEC opponents respectively. He also scored a season-high 27 points at Arizona State and was Texas Southern's leading scorer in both contests. A native of Baton Rouge, La., Jones leads TSU with 19 three-pointers made and is the team's second-leading scorer wth 9.6 points per game.
