PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – TSU men’s track & field received strong performances from its distance team and javelin throwers to wrap up the first day of the 2023 SWAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Prairie View A&M University.
Chad Williams finished third in the javelin with a season-best throw of 165-9 feet while Malachi Byrd also earned a point as he finished eighth after a throw of 145-10 feet.
Jose Gonzalez set a personal best in the 10,000 as he ran 32:10.67 to place second overall. Teammate Albert Norman captured fifth after a run of 32:53.94
The team currently stands in second place entering the second day of the championships.
