
Jose Gonzalez placed third overall in the mile run while Turey Stoudmire placed fifth in the high jump as TSU men’s track & field wrapped up action at the Robert Platt Invitational on Saturday.
Gonzalez finished third in a highly competitive field as he ran an indoor best time of 4:11.73 which stands at the top of the SWAC. Jeremiah Barrera (9:11.12) and David Livingston (9:12.38) also cracked the SWAC’s top 10 in the same event.
Stoudmire also posted an indoor track & field indoor best with a mark of 6-9.75 feet in the high jump as he needed only one attempt to set the mark. His mark currently ranks second in the SWAC.
Brandon Washington posted the SWAC’s eight-best time after a mark of 1:56.01 in the 800. Adams Hines’ mark of 14-7.25 feet was a personal best and the SWAC’s top mark in the pole vault while Blaine Nunn logged the SWAC’s sixth-best mark (45-10.75) in the weight throw.
TSU is back in action on Saturday, Feb. 4 at the South Alabama Invitational in Birmingham, Ala.
