
ARLINGTON, Texas – TSU bowling’s 2021-22 season came to a tough end in the semifinals of the SWAC Tournament on Saturday.
The Tigers opened the day with a 4-3 thriller over Southern to move on to the quarterfinals against Prairie View A&M. TSU fell 211-150 in the opener but bounced back with a 193-171 win in game two. TSU would surpass the 200-pin count in game three but so did PVAMU as they fell 234-203. Both teams had a low-scoring game four but PVAMU moved ahead 3-1 before closing out the match with a 229-202 win.
TSU moved to the consolation bracket and fought back as they led 2-0 over Florida A&M before falling behind 3-2. The Tigers dug deep with a 198-154 win in game six before securing the win with a 232-203 decision in the seventh game.
TSU earned a date with Southern once again but fell behind 3-0 before a 145-138 win in game five. However, the run came to an end as SU won 217-137 as they used the momentum to defeat Prairie View A&M and clinch a spot in the title round on Sunday.
