HOUSTON — Texas Southern leaned on senior goalkeeper Alessandra Bastidas to deliver a gritty defensive performance in Sunday night’s 0-0 draw against Incarnate Word at Durley Stadium.
Bastidas recorded 11 saves on the night. Her poise between the posts kept UIW off the scoreboard and earned TSU its second shutout of the season.
The Tigers (1-4-2) absorbed heavy pressure throughout the match, with defenders Akiya Saine and Gabriela Gonzalez stepping up to disrupt UIW’s attack. Midfielders Bailey Buckner and Kamara Bradley contributed key stops and helped TSU transition out of its defensive third.
