Men’s Golf Earns Public APR Recognition, Athletics Fares Well In Latest APR Report
The Texas Southern men’s golf team received an Academic Progress Rate (APR) Public Recognition Award from the NCAA after posting a perfect APR score during the latest APR cycle.
The team posted a perfect 1,000 multi-year APR score for the first time in program history as head coach Willie Shankle has now posted the top two APR totals in program history under his watch.
Overall, the department had three teams (men’s golf, women’s golf, bowling) surpass the 990 mark in its multi-year APR rate and five teams (men’s golf, women’s basketball, bowling, women’s golf, volleyball) achieved a perfect 1,000 score for its 2023-24 APR.
Three teams (volleyball, soccer, softball) narrowly missed the 990 multi-year mark as they posted scores of 989, 986 and 984, respectively.
